Potatoes – The Perfect Food for Weight Loss, Satiety, and Deliciousness 🥔
Are they really good for weight loss?
Ounce for ounce, potatoes are one of the most filling and low-calorie foods we can eat.
I teach that potatoes are actually very good for you, especially if you’re trying to lose weight.
The satiety effect of potatoes is due to the volume of food (one large potato or two medium is about one pound), and the high water, high fiber (six grams) and high protein content (almost 10 grams).
The fiber, mostly found in the skin, helps slow digestion, promotes fullness, and decreases hunger.
When I first started my plantbased diet I was afraid of them.
They have had a bad reputation of being high on the glycemic index, high in carbs therefore not helpful for dropping unwanted pounds.
Yet, that is a myth not true!
I have found them to be super helpful for dropping pounds and maintaining my weight.
I think the Starch Solution by Dr McDougall is the best read ever!
